Coney Island Mermaid Parade 2009
Coney Island Mermaid Parade 2009: A completely original creation of Coney Island USA, the Mermaid Parade is the nation's largest art parade and one of New York City's greatest summer events. The Parade is characterized by participants dressed in hand-made costumes as Mermaids, Neptunes and various sea creatures. Each year, a different celebrity King Neptune and Queen Mermaid rule over the proceedings, and have included Queen Latifah, David Byrne, Ron Kuby, Curtis Sliwa etc in the past.

Annual ISI Team Figure Skating Competition: For 23 years hundreds of amateur figure skaters from all over the world test their skills in one of Sky Rink's annual figure skating competitions. The Sky Rink ISI Team Competition is the largest ISI competition on the East coast and is open to competitors of all ages and skating levels.
