New York Easter Parade 2008
23 March 2008
The New York City Easter Parade has been an annual tradition since Civil War days and features marchers in elaborate Easter finery, including some of the fanciest Easter bonnets imaginable.
The festivities begin at 10am on Fifth Ave at 49th st, near the Rockefeller Center and St Patrick’s Church (a beautiful 19th-century gothic building) and ends around 55th St.
Anyone can join in the annual march but with viewing platforms situated next to St Patrick’s, it is just as much fun to stand by and watch the outrageous outfits on display.
Location
The parade begins at Fifth Ave. and 49th Street near St. Patrick’s Cathedral and continues up Fifth to 55th Street.
