The Directors/New Films Festival, held at The Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center, is dedicated to discovering emerging artists, newcomers on the verge of mainstream success and distinguished veterans whose work deserves wider recognition.
Scores of films that have gone on to enjoy great critical and popular success have premiered at New Directors/New Films including: Old Joy, and the Academy Award-nominated Half Nelson, and My Country, My Country from 2006; Murderball, Kontroll, Darwin’s Nightmare and Junebug from 2005; The Story of the Weeping Camel, Dig!, Control Room, and Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.and Spring from 2004; Raising Victor Vargas, Respiro, Camp, and My Architect from 2003; Atanarjuat, The Fast Runner, Late Marriage, and Real Women Have Curves from 2002; Lift, Nine Queens, and L.I.E. from 2001; Jesus’ Son, Ratcatcher, and Human Resources from 2000.
Location
Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater (WRT), 165 West 65th Street between Broadway & Amsterdam Avenues on the upper level and at The Museum of Modern Art’s The Roy and Niuta Titus Theater 1 (MoMA), 11 West 53 Street between Fifth & Sixth Avenues.

Admission
$11 general public; $7 FSLC & MoMA members, students and seniors(with valid ID).

Fifth Avenue/53rd Street subway
By Subway: E, F to 5th Ave; N, R to 49th St; B to 7th Ave.
By Bus: 50 runs crosstown on 50th St; 1 runs north from Washington Square on Broadway and south on 5th Ave; 5 runs south on 5th and north on 6th Ave.
