12 June 2010
Reebok Grand Prix 2008 Results
In keeping with tradition, Randall’s Island will once again transform into a spirited piece of Caribbean heaven as some of the top Jamaican track & field athletes-and their boisterous Caribbean fans-descend upon Icahn Stadium at the adidas Grand Prix on Saturday, June 12. New for 2010, the event will be the fifth stop on the inaugural 14-meet, international Diamond League circuit.
The man everyone wants to see? None other than Jamaican sprint sensation Usain Bolt, already a legend in Jamaica and one of the most popular athletes in the world. The last time Bolt competed in New York in 2008, he electrified the crowd with his first world record in the 100 meters. He’s since lowered that mark twice and set the world best in the 200m, both to seemingly untouchable times (9.58 for 100m and 19.19 for 200m).
Events at the Adidas Grand Prix 2010 include Men’s 100m, 800m, 1500m, 400m Hurdles, 3000m Steeplechase, High Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Javelin and Women’s 200m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m, 100m Hurdles, Long Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put, Discus Throw.
Don’t miss your chance to see many world class athletes in action, right here in New York City.
