The eleventh annual Animation Block Party is July 24-27, 2014 at Rooftop Films and BAMcinématek. Animation Block Party is the premier animation festival of the East Coast, dedicated to exhibiting all genres of the world’s best independent, professional and student animation.

Animation Block Party Opening Night at Rooftop Films is Presented by Arts Brookfield. The ABP 2014 festival begins on Thursday, July 24th at Brookfield Place (formerly the World Financial Center) ground level, along the water between West Street and the Hudson River – 220 Vesey Street, NY, NY, 10281. Doors at 6:30pm. Live Music at 7:45 pm. Films begin at 8:45pm.

Animation Block Party continues on Friday, July 25th at BAMcinématek located at the Peter Sharp Building, 30 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn, NY 11217.
ABP Friday at BAMcinématek features four different animation programs. Program 1 offers Experimental Films, Graphic Design and Music Videos. Program 2 includes Student Films & Independent Animators. Program 3 is a special showcase to be announced soon. Program 4 is the NYC premiere of Animation Breakdown Roundup.

Animation Block Party presents a collection of the year’s best experimental animated shorts, design oriented films and cutting edge music videos.
4 PM
Animation Block Party presents a collection of imaginative films by students and independent animators.
9:45 PM
NYC premiere – Animation Breakdown Roundup – with a special intro from Cinefamily programmer Alex McDonald and Nickelodeon’s director of animation development Kevin Sukho Lee. Roundup is a collection of original and acquired shorts from the world’s top animation talent.

Animation Block Party continues on Saturday, July 26th at BAMcinématek located at the Peter Sharp Building, 30 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11217.
ABP Saturday at BAMcinématek includes four different animation programs and one big late night party. Program 5 features a special Animation for Kids showcase. Program 6 provides a look at Farmer Alfalfa from Tom Stathes’ Cartoons on Film. Program 7 includes an original blend of International Shorts. Program 8 highlights the Best of 5 Second Day from Titmouse Animation.
If you buy a ticket to any Animation Block Party screening at BAM – please bring your ticket stub to the BAM Fisher between 9:30pm-2am to gain free access to the ABP Saturday Night Party.

Animation Block Party presents a fresh collection of the year’s best family-friendly animated shorts in festival competition, including a handful of select cartoons from the major studios.

A look at the iconic Farmer Alfalfa, created by animation legend, Paul Terry.

Animation Block Party presents a blend of the best animated shorts from around the world. The first of two entirely unique programs of acclaimed international animated films.
9 PM
One of the largest independent animation studios in the world, Titmouse encourages their animators to take a day off work every so often and complete a short of their choosing.

Animation Block Party closes on Sunday, July 27th at BAMcinématek, 30 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11217.
ABP Sunday at BAMcinématek includes four different animation programs. Program 9 is Space Jam with Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny. Program 10 features the John Hubley Centennial. Program 11 includes Narrative Works, Studio Shorts & Local Films. Program 12 is a fresh collection of International Shorts.

Michael Jordan helps the Looney Toons play a basketball game against aliens in a battle for cartoon freedom.
4:30 PM
Hubley had his hand in some of the most defining cartoons of the 20th Century, including Disney classics like Bambi, TV icons like Mister Magoo, and shorts for Electric Company.

Animation Block Party presents an innovative mix of narrative works, studio shorts and local films.
