Broadway on Broadway Concert is a free outdoor concert featuring musical numbers and appearances from almost every play and musical on Broadway, as well as sneak peeks at several upcoming shows opening in the new theatre season.
Broadway on Broadway Concert 2010
Broadway on Broadway® presented by Continental Airlines is the quintessential New York City event: 50,000 spectators at the "Crossroads of the World," live musical numbers from Broadway shows performed on a giant outdoor stage, giant screens in Times Square, a galaxy of celebrity performers, and a big finale with loads of confetti.
The 2010 concert took place on September 12, with Kelsey Grammer hostng! The event featured star performances from new shows and long-running favorites, accompanied by a live 30-piece orchestra.
For the spectacular Broadway on Broadway finale, Lin-Manuel Miranda (In The Heights) and Karen Olivo (West Side Story, In The Heights) performed “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. As a special treat, a chorus of 20 children from Camp Broadway performed with the cast of The Phantom of the Opera.
