Children’s Day at South Street Seaport 2011
Every year thousands of children and their families take part in the annual Children’s Day Festival at the South Street Seaport.
Children’s Day has been ranked higher than such year-round attractions as Sesame Place and Hershey Park (Advertising Age, September 2006) and voted “Best Kid Fest” by New York City parents (Time Out New York Kids, 2007). Mayoral Proclamation’s received each year since 2002 name Children’s Day at the South Street Seaport the “official children’s day of the City of New York.
Entering its 18th year, Children’s Day at the South Street Seaport transforms the historic Seaport district into New York’s largest free family festival on Saturday, June 25, 2010. Children’s Day is a multi-faceted event that draws 30,000+ parents and children from across the Tri-State area. Musical performances, walk-around characters, hands-on art projects, storytime events and vibrant theater entertain the stroller set from noon – 5pm. More free family entertainment closes the day with the Target Fireworks Spectacular and a family-focused concert on the Seaport’s Pier 17 stage.
