The New York City Marathon is an annual marathon foot-race run over a 42,195 m (26.2 mile) course through all five boroughs of New York City. It is the largest marathon race in the world, and with 37,866 finishers in 2006, was also the largest marathon race ever run.

New York Transit Museum Gallery Annex and Store at Grand Central Terminal
What do an 1860s model of a horse-drawn omnibus, a World War II air raid siren from an elevated subway station, and a set of “Dashing Dan” and “Dashing Dottie” cocktail glasses have in common? The museum has recently added these pieces and dozens of others to its collection. This exhibit explores some of the best and most unusual of the Museum’s latest acquisitions, and the stories behind them.

The New York Comedy Festival, held at venues across the city, is devoted entirely to comedy filmmaking. Aimed at “celebrating the people who make us laugh”, the event screens new and upcoming comedy features and shorts. There are also appearances from leading lights of the US comedy circuit and a portion of the proceeds go to charity.

Just A Day Like Any Other explores significant moments that we all experience which alter the course of our existences by weaving together the personal stories of four New York actor-writers. A multi-media experience combines video, comedy, puppetry, and music to tell the real-life accounts of the actors creating a living-newspaper, documenting a reunion, a death, a wedding and a road not taken. Not reality TV. Not reality theatre. Just reality. Fans of the New York Neo-Futurists may discover some surprises along with what they have come to expect and love from the work of this ensemble.
