The Liberty Open is New York's annual gay and lesbian tennis tournament, held at the USTA National Tennis Center.
Over the Independence Day weekend more than 200 players from around the country and Canada invade New York to battle it out on the courts where tennis pros have made history.
There are five different divisions, split according to ability (with varying competitiveness) for singles, doubles and mixed doubles. The finals are played in Stadium Court Number 1, where Serena Williams and Andre Agassi won their US Open titles.

Draw Party: Thurs, July 3rd, 6-9 PM. Veranda 411, The Hotel Roger Williams Play begins: Friday, July 4th, 8:00 AM Banquet: Sunday, July 6th, 6:30-11 PM. Porcão Churrascaria. Finals: Monday, July 7th. Any players who make it to the finals should expect to be available from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Monday.
