The Directors/New Films Festival, held at The Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center, is dedicated to discovering emerging artists, newcomers on the verge of mainstream success and distinguished veterans.
Since its beginning in 1972, festival audiences have been treated to early previews from such diverse talents as Wim Wenders, Steven Spielberg, John Sayles, Spike Lee, Sally Potter, Pedro Almodovar, Chen Kaige, Ken Burns, Peter Greenaway and Whit Stillman.
