New York International Children’s Film Festival 2008
2 – 25 March 2012
The annual New York International Children’s Film Festival is a treat for all ages, though it is aimed at the three-to-18 age group. So grab a kid and get the lowdown on the latest in children’s cinema at Manhattan’s IFC Center and other locations.
The festival has been growing in stature since it began back in 1998 as a meagre two-hour shorts screening. Today it pulls in hot new films and attracts a rewarding line-up of filmmakers and celebrities with a feast of flicks from around the world, new features, shorts and videos. Filmmakers are on hand to discuss their work after the screenings, and audience members vote for award-winners.
The nation’s largest festival for kids and teens will present four weekends of groundbreaking and thought-provoking new works for ages 3-18, with 100 new films, opening and closing galas, new feature premieres, six short film programs, filmmaker Q&As, filmmaking workshops and special events!
