Super Bowl New York
Super Bowl New York
The big day that NY and NJ residents and football fans all across the US have been waiting for is finally here. The first ever Super Bowl in the New York area will take place tomorrow at the Met Life Stadium in New Jersey. Kickoff will be at 6:30 PM.
The players of the two Super Bowl teams – the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos arrived in the city a week in advance and were given a warm welcome by the fans. The festivities were officially started with the Superbowl Kickoff Spectacular concert at Liberty State Park in New Jersey where the Googoo Dolls and Daughtry entertained the crowds who braved dangerously cold temperatures to be part of the show. The night concluded with spectacular fireworks over the Hudson river.
Even though record cold temperatures in the North East and all over the US had threatened the first ever outdoor Super Bowl in the winter, as February 2nd drew closer, the weather has gotten much better and the temperature for tomorrow’s game is predicted to be above normal with the high temperature close to a balmy 50 degrees!! Mother Nature sure seems like a football fan!
Super Bowl Boulevard
The highlight of the festivities in New York is definitely the Super Bowl Boulevard which is set up on Broadway from 34th St to 47th St. The toboggan run has been the most popular attraction at the Super Bowl Boulevard. And when something is popular, you can inevitably expect long lines for tickets and another long line to get on the ride, but fans who’ve enjoyed the ride say that the experience of sliding down a toboggan in Times Square is definitely worth the wait.
