Rockefeller Center & Plaza

About the plaza: Several of the most popular shows are taped at NBC Studios, including “Saturday Night Live,” and “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” The popular “Today” show with hosts Meredith Viera and Matt Lauer, broadcasts live weekdays from 7am to 9am from its glass-walled studio on the corner of 49th Street and Rockefeller Plaza. The NBC summer concerts are usually held in front of this studio. Arrive early, at least by 6 AM to secure a good spot. The actual concert begins at 8:30 AM, but most celebs come before that and will perfrom a few songs just for testing.

Directions: 45 Rockefeller Plaza is located between East 49th and East 50th Streets, just west of Fifth Avenue. You may also enter the building at 630 Fifth Avenue, between East 49th and East 50th Streets.

How to get there: By subway, take the 6 train to 50th Street, exit at the rear of the station and walk 3 blocks west to Fifth Avenue. You can also take the B, D, F or Q trains to the 47th-50th Street/Rockefeller Center station and walk one block east on 49th or 50th Street to Rockefeller Plaza.

Rumsey Playfield, Central Park: Viewers interested in joining “GMA” in Central Park are encouraged to arrive at Summerstage Rumsey Playfield via the 72nd Street entrance on Fifth Avenue at 6 a.m., when the park opens to the public.

Directions: Rumsey Playfield is located right off the 5th Avenue and 69th Street entrance to Central Park in New York City. Enter the park at 69th Street and 5th Avenue on the east side or at 72nd Street and Central Park West on the west side.

How to get there: The closest subway stop is the “B” and “C” train stop at 72nd & Central Park West. You may also take the #1,2 or 3 train to 72nd & Broadway, the #6 train to 68th & Lexington Ave or N, R, W trains to 5th Avenue- 59th St.
