Belmont Stakes Horse Race 2014
Belmont Stakes Horse Race 2014
The Belmont Stakes Horse Race is the third and final leg of the US Triple Crown, following the Kentucky Derby, and the Preakness Stakes.
The 146th running of the Belmont Stakes will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Horse racing enthusiasts are very excited about this year’s race as ‘California Chrome’, winner of the 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness will be running in the Belmont Stakes in the hopes of winning a Triple Crown. The Triple Crown is the highest honor in the world of horse racing. The last horse to win the Triple Crown was ‘Affirmed’ in 1978.
Updated: Unfortunately, horse racing fans will not be seeing a Triple Crown win at the Belmont Stakes this year. ‘Tonalist’ won the 2014 Belmont Stakes, with favorite ‘California Chrome’ coming in fifth.
Belmont Stakes New York Location
The Belmont Stakes takes place at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. Elmont is located at the border between New York City’s Queens County and Long Island.
