Romania Day Festival 2010

Romania Day Festival brings together Romanians from the North-American continent and from all over the world. Held on 20 blocks on Broadway, more than 25,000 people take part in a programme that includes performances by traditional folk music groups and singers, speeches by leaders of the Romanian-American community and church officials and many other cultural events.

This gourmet food fair covers 20 blocks from 37th to 57th Sts on Ninth Avenue, two blocks from Times Square. Food from all over the world is on offer and local bands and international dancers will perform.

New York City Fleet Week 2010

26 May - 1 June, 2010
Fleet Week is a United States Navy, United States Marine Corps and United States Coast Guard tradition in which active military ships recently deployed in overseas operations dock in a variety of major cities for one week. Once the ships dock, the crews can enter the city and visit its tourist attractions. At certain hours, the public can take a guided tour of the ships. Often, Fleet Week is accompanied by military demonstrations and airshows such as provided by the Blue Angels.

DanceAfrica 2010

DanceAfrica is a heritage and community celebration centered on the diverse dance forms of the African Diaspora held each Memorial Day weekend at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Included are live music, a film series at BAM Rose Cinemas, master classes, a student-artist sculpture garden, education programs, and an outdoor bazaar.
