The 34th Annual India Day Parade which celebrates the Indian Independence Day (August 15th) will take place in New York City on Sunday, August 17th, 2014. It is the largest India Day Parade in the world other than the one which takes place in the Indian capital of New Delhi every year to commemorate the day that India gained her Independence from the British.
Grand Marshal of Manhattan India Day Parade
Bollywood actor, Sunny Deol will be Grand Marshal for this year’s India Day Parade in New york City.
Other notable celebrities who will take part in India Day Parade New York 2014 include Bollywood heroine Raveena Tandon, Bhangra legend Daler Mehndi, Tennis great Leander Paes and businessman and Sacramento Kings basketball team owner Vivek Ranadive. Hindi movie actresses Zarine Khan, Sagarika Ghatge, Daisy Shah, Shenaz Treasurywala, singers Arjun and Kailash Kher, television actors Anup Soni, Manav Gohil and actress Kamya Punjabi are all expected to participate in the 34th Annual India Day Parade New York 2014.

Time: Parade Starts at 12 Noon
India Day New york City Parade Route
The parade starts at 38th Street and Madison Avenue in Midtown Manhattan and walks down Madison Ave to 28th Street. The Press stand is located at 28th Street.
Food Courts and Cultural Program
There will be food courts set up from 27th to 25th Streets and the parade will be followed by a cultural performance at 23rd Street starting at 2:30 PM.
Admission
Admission to the parade is FREE. No tickets are required.
