Captive Nations Parade

Manhatten: 5th Av North to 72nd St and Central Park Band Shell.
The Captive Nations Committee is an organization dedicated to the freedom and liberation of nations and peoples still under the control and influence of oppressive governments.

Grand Dominican Parade of the Bronx
End of July
Grand Concourse, 184th to 166th Street
This historical parade and all-day street party in the Bronx commemorates the anniversary of the independence of the Dominican Republic in 1855 and honors Juan Pablo Duarte, a hero and patriot who led the movement for independence.

Celebrates the outstanding contributions of the Puerto Rican people to the history of New York City.

India Independence Day Parade
Third Weekend
40th and 41st Sts. between Fifth and Park Aves., then south on Madison Ave. to 27th St.
Celebrating India's independence from British rule, and the largest event of this kind held outside India.

Dominican Day Parade

6th Ave. Between 39th and 58th Streets

Pakistan Independence Day Parade & Fair

Celebrating Pakistan's independence.

Labor Day Parade
1st Monday in September
5th Avenue from 44th to 72nd Street

West Indian American Day Carnival Parade
Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn
The largest parade in North America. Join up to two million spectators, thousands of paraders and dozens of bands for this four day event.
The children's parade takes place Labor Day Saturday at Kingston Avenue & St John's Place to the Brooklyn Museum

Brooklyn Latinos Unidos Parade
Eastern Pkwy between Utica Avenue & Grand Army Plaza

The Steuben Day Parade
Third Weekend
On 5th Street from 63rd to 86th Streets
The big German-American event. The annual parade is named after General Frederick Wilhem von Steuben, a Prussian army officer who volunteered his services to General George Washington during the Revolutionary War.

International Cultures Parade
Second Weekend
Either Madison Ave. between 42nd and 26th Streets or Broadway
Features contingents from all over the world with floats, dance customs & music in a true carnival of colorful multicultural traits.

Muslim Day Parade
Late September
Madison Avenue from 41st Street south to 26th Street

Mexican Day Parade
Second Weekend
Madison Avenue between 41st & 23rd Streets

African-American Day Parade
Late September
Manhattan Adam Clayton Powell Blvd bet 111th to 142nd & Fifth Ave

October Events

Columbus Day Parade & Festival
Columbus Day
Fifth Avenue from 44th to 79th Streets, then east to Third Avenue.
Dignitaries, Folkloric bands in traditional costumes, Italian American Associations, Floats, Children, Beauty Queens in Convertibles Waving to You and all with that charming Italian emphasis. More than 500 international food, art, craft, antique and merchandise exhibitors create a midway along lower Broadway. The entertainment is multi-ethnic.

Hispanic Day Parade
5th Avenue from 44th Street to 86th Street

Nigerian Parade
1st Saturday in October
54th Street/Second Avenue and terminates at the Nigeria House, 44th Street/2nd Avenue
A yearly program of the Organization for the Advancement of Nigerians

Pulaski Day Parade
1st Sunday in October
5th Avenue between 26th St north to 52nd Street
Commemorates the Polish Revolutionary War general, Casimir Pulaski for the city's Polish immigrants

Korean Harvest Day Parade
1st Sunday in October
South on Broadway bet 41st St and 23rd St

New York Is Book Country Children's Parade
First Weekend
5th Avenue from 55th to 42nd Street
A collection of events and activities that celebrate the City as the center of the country's publishing industry, kicked off by a children's parade along 5th Ave.

The Village Halloween Parade
October 31
The parade begins 6th avenue and Houston street and proceeds north to 14th or 23rd Street. The signature costumes are the Giant Puppets.

November

November Events

MACY'S Thanksgiving Day Parade
4th Thursday in November
The parade 2.5 mile route begins on Central Park West (CPW) at 77th street and travels downtown to 59th street at Columbus Circle then down Broadway to Macy's.


Veteran's Day Parade
2nd Thursday in November
Up Fifth Ave. in Manhattan from 42nd St. to 79th St
The Nations Parade is intended to be the largest Veterans Day parade in the country, states parade coordinator Pat Gualtieri. We're eager to have veterans groups from around the world, as well as marching bands, floats, military vehicles and active duty troops all take part in this commemoration.

Toys R Us Holiday Parade
Second Weekend
Broadway from 56th to 44th Streets
A Cornerstone event for the beginning of the holiday season.
