New Yorkers get Free Admission to Museums with IDNYC card
New York City Mayor, Bill de Blasio rolled out a new identity card for residents of New York city called IDNYC which became available to the public in January, 2015.
The best part about getting the IDNYC Card is that it gives you a one-year FREE membership package at 33 of New York City’s leading cultural institutions, including world class museums, performing arts centers, concert halls, botanical gardens, and zoos in all five boroughs. These membership packages are comparable to each institution’s standard one-year membership package and will give IDNYC card holders a range of benefits including free or discounted admission, and access to special events, and to museum shops and neighborhood businesses.
As an IDNYC cardholder, you also have access to exclusive discounts on movie and Broadway tickets, as well as special offers to top attractions, sporting events, theme parks and more, in New York City and across the country. How to apply for an IDNYC card
To apply for the New York Municipal ID card, commonly known as the IDNYC card, you will need to provide proof of identity as well as proof that you are a resident of New York City. The full list of acceptable documents can be found here.
