The annual Tribeca Film Festival brings together local, national and international talent to provide screenings, workshops and special events all over lower Manhattan.

There are categories for feature-length films, shorts, documentaries and directorial-debut features. A jury presents an Emerging Film Maker Award and an award for best short film.

For those who want to delve that bit deeper, there is a full programme of panel discussions and seminars. A number of celebrities, directors and producers discuss the issues facing Hollywood’s independent film, media and arts communities.

FREE Outdoor Film Screenings as part of the Tribeca Drive-in will be presented in the World Financial Center Plaza. Tribeca Drive-in activities and programming start at 6:15 Pm an the movie starts at dusk, around 8:15 PM.

There is also a FREE Family Festival on April 28 from 10 AM to 6 PM. The all-day festivities are filled with entertaining performances, activities, local merchants, and much more. Join your favorite athletes and sports teams for exciting games and competitions at the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Day which is a part of the Family Festival.

The Tribeca Film Festival was co-founded by Robert DeNiro and Jane Rosenthal after 9/11 to revitalize the economy of Downtown New York city.
