New York City’s 4th of July Fireworks is one of Macy’s great gifts to the people of NYC. Each year Macy’s kicks off the world’s largest fireworks display at approximately 9:20 pm on July 4th.
The fireworks display will begin at 9:20 p.m., last 26 minutes, and feature approximately 1,500 bursts per minute, organizers said. In recent years, Macy’s has increased the number of shells that can reach heights of 1,000 feet in the sky, providing for greater visibility of the show for millions more spectators.
The fireworks will be launched from six barges, floating in the middle of the Hudson River. On the New York side, the barges will stretch from 19th to 59th streets. On the Jersey side, that’s the equivalent of the Hoboken/Jersey City border to the ferry terminal in Weehawken.
