Super Bowl 2014 Events New York
Super Bowl 2014 frenzy coming to New York and New Jersey
New York and New Jersey residents are gearing up as the Super Bowl 2014 frenzy gets bigger and louder with each passing day. This is a very exciting time for residents of the region as it’s the first time that the popular sporting spectacle is being held in New York / New Jersey. The big event will take place at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday, February 2nd, 2014. (For visitors from other countries, the Super Bowl is the annual Championship game of American Football, which is one of the biggest sporting events in the US each year.)
Super Bowl XLVIII is historic in many ways. It will be the first ever Super Bowl to be hosted jointly by two states (NY and NJ). It’s also the first time that the SuperBowl will be held outdoors in the height of the winter season.
Tens of thousands of visitors from all over the US are expected to flock to New York and New Jersey to experience the Super Bowl. The spirits of sports fans in the region are slightly dampened because neither of the New York football teams, the New York Giants or the New York Jets made it to the Super Bowl. The two teams that will compete in the biggest sporting event of the year will be revealed only after the AFC and NFC championship games on January 19th, 2014. The winners of the AFC and NFC Championships will go head to head for a chance to hold football’s ultimate prize – the Vince Lombardi Superbowl Trophy.

The NFL offers tickets to the general public only through a lottery system and entries to that are now closed. So the only way to get tickets at this time for SuperBowl is via third party re-sellers.
Our Suggestions:
If you are planning a trip to New York and have no interest in the Super Bowl or American football, we would recommend that you avoid travel to the area for about a week around February 2nd, 2014. All hotels will be booked and there will be big crowds everywhere.
If you are planning to come to New York city to experience the Super Bowl, we suggest that you make your travel arrangements and book hotel rooms as soon as possible.
Tickets to the Super Bowl are scarce and very expensive (prices starting at $2000 per ticket at third party sellers)
